Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has a policy of not releasing a list of toppers or any merit list for its exams. In its result notification, CBSE has given reasons for this decision, stating that it aims to prevent unhealthy competition among students. This policy also ensures that students do not feel demotivated if they do not achieve a certain rank or position. Additionally, CBSE does not award first, second, or third class to its students to avoid labeling them based on their academic performance.
