Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University

Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garwal University was established in the year 1973 under the provisions of Uttar Pardesh State Universities act. Later on the name of the university was shortened to Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in the year 1989.

It was later on established as Central University under the provision of the Central Universities Ordinance in 2009. University is among the ten largest Universities of the country with 3 campuses and more than 180 affiliated colleges and institutes (both state run/aided and self financed) with its Headquarters at Srinagar.

The university is providing the both graduate and post graduate courses for the students who want to pursue their career from this university. Srinagar has strongly emerged as a centre of higher learning and research with the establishment of the University. The university was established with the motive to provide the best possible education to the students residing there.
