He also stated that “In this difficult period, we are committed to providing quality education to every student through online mediums”
The JEE Main and JEE Advanced were scheduled to be held on April 5, 7, 9 and 11 but due to lockdown to prevent the COVID-19 the exams were postponed.
Not only JEE but many of the exams have been rescheduled. The universities, colleges, and other educational institutes are shut to prevent the Coronavirus disease.
However, no actual dates have been announced yet. The minister also mentioned in one of his tweets “The ministry is in touch with all stakeholders related to the examination of JEE-MAIN and NEET and the next date of examinations will be announced after the situation is normalized”.
The lockdown has been extended till May 3, it is expected that the announcement of the JEE exam could be made in the month of May if the lockdown period is not further extended.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. Earlier, through a notification, NTA had said to conduct the JEE Main exam in the last week of May. After this, when the second phase of lockdown was put in place to prevent the coronavirus in the country, this test was postponed again. Now it is likely that the JEE Main exam will be held in June. All schools, colleges, and higher educational institutions are closed due to the lockdown. Online classes are going on in colleges and schools. Due to the lockdown, many competitive examinations have been postponed and the dates of many exams have been extended. Due to the lockdown, the last date of application for the NET exam has also been extended.
