CUCET 2022 to be Held for Admissions to Central Universities - PC : My Result Plus
CUCET 2022: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released guidelines for the conduct of CUCET 2022 Exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is slated to conduct the Central University Common Entrance Test 2022 (CUCET 2022) for providing admissions to candidates in both Undergraduate as well as Postgraduate courses.

The official notice released by UGC on its official website on March 21, 2022 reads, "All UGC funded universities have adopted the Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2022), which is a revamped version of CUCET. Apart from this, a large number of central universities have also confirmed their participation in conducting CUET PG exam. The same can also be adopted by the state/deemed/private universities as well. The medium of instruction for the exam will be available in 13 languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Odia, Assamese, Punjabi, Urdu and English".

The official notice went on to inform that the Application process for CUET UG will commence in the first week of April 2022.

CUCET 2022: Syllabus

Recently, the Chairman of UGC, M Jagadesh Kumar also stated that the syllabus that CUET 2022 encompasses will fall in line with that mentioned in the Class 12 NCERT textbooks. Shedding more light on the same, he had also said that for admissions to undergraduate courses, 27 domains (choice of subjects) have been included in CUET. The students have the liberty to choose at least one of these 27 domains and a maximum of six domains.

A wide variety of subjects such as Accountancy or Computer Accountancy, Biology or Biology Studies or Biotechnology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science or Informatics Practice, Economics or Business Economics, Engineering Graphics, Entrepreneurship, Geography, History, Home Science, Knowledge Tradition - Practice in India, Legal Studies , Commercial Arts, Mathematics, Physical Education or NCC, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Teaching Aptitude, Agriculture, Mass Media or Mass Communication, Anthropology, Fine Art or Visual Art (Sculpture or Painting) Performing Arts (Dance, Kathak, Subjects like Bharatnatyam, Kathakali, Odissi, Drama, Theatre, Music General, Hindustani Sangeet, Persian-Non-Persian and Sanskrit will be available, from which students must choose their preferred subjects.

The Delhi University (DU) has also announced scrapping its traditional practice of admitting students to Undergraduate courses through cut-offs based on Class 12 marks. The university will admit students on the basis of their performance in the Common University Entrance Test. Following this, the Delhi Academic Council (DAC) has announced that the Class 12 students need to secure a minimum of 40% marks in their intermediate exams to be eligible to appear for CUET 2022.
