1. Learn to listen
No one likes to be unheard. You have to acknowledge that you are paying attention to what they are saying. Use simple phrases like “I understand” or “I know” front of people who are communicating with you.
2. Change the tone according to the situation
You cannot be formal with friends and at the same time you cannot afford to be casual with your boss or someone elder. Make sure to use proper tone and language according to the situation.
3. The body language
When you are having a face-to-face conversation with someone, make sure not to cross your arms, sit or stand in an attentive position and maintain eye contact. A good body language will impress the person in front of you.
4. Don’t stress the points
While talking to someone, prefer not to explain your points beyond necessary boundaries until asked. Do not stress the point to an extent where the person in front starts to get bored. Always stay to the point specific to the topic.
5. Talk if the email may get long
Emails are good to keep records, however, if you are sure that the email is going to be really long and the details are not necessary for the records, call the person. This will reduce the time consumption on both sides.
6. Stay positive
A person with a positive attitude is always welcomed. Make sure you do not have any negative thoughts while talking to someone.
