Satyam Gandhi, UPSC CSE 2020, AIR-10 - PC : My Result Plus
The Union Public Service Commission had declared the UPSC Civil Services Result 2020. This year, a total of 761 candidates qualified for the civil services exam. The AIR 10 rank holder Satyam Gandhi is among the top 10 candidates who qualified the UPSC Civil Services Exam. He put all his efforts towards the preparation for civil services examination from the last 2.5 years.

While asking about the reaction and feeling of the parents when they all saw the result, Satyam said "At the first instance, I didn't believe that I'd secured a rank and that too as an AIR 10 rank holder. I quickly called my parents and told them about the result. They all were happy and gave me blessings to do good in the future."

Satyam's journey of civil services started in May, 2019. "I started preparing for the civil services exam when I was in the third year of my graduation in 2019. I did 12 hours of self study everyday in a close packed room. I was consistent throughout the time and finally, I did it."

While asking Satyam about his future goal, he said "In the coming time, I would like to contribute towards Rural Development. I got this idea because I did one internship in Ranchi which was dedicated towards Rural development. Additionally, I would prefer home cadre Bihar for my posting but at the same time I'm open to all. As I've lived in Bihar for more than 18 years, I know the problems on the ground level."

While talking with Amar Ujala, he said “My parents always extended support. It helped me a lot to continue the study with full motivation. Parents always made a lot of compromises for me. The 100% support factor is the reason I continued the preparation and finally I cracked the exam.”

Satyam also gave personal advice to all the UPSC Civil Services aspirants. He said "Self study of 10 hours every day is a must. Everyone should be honest to themselves as this leads to self awareness. The candidates should fix a weekly and a monthly target. The aim and the focus should be clear. As per my view, plan wise study and consistency is the key to crack the civil services exam."

Satyam has an interest towards rural development. When he was doing an internship with the Ranchi Administration, he was assigned to projects related to rural level development. In future, Satyam would love to serve the people of Bihar but the decision of the commission would be the final.
