To commemorate the contribution of these young revolutionaries, March 23 has been formed as the 'Shaheed Diwas' or 'Martyr's Day' across the country. The first spark of the revolution was enlightened in 1857 to end the 200 long years of slavery, oppression, and colonization. With 90 years of a long fight, India got freedom in 1947. During the period our freedom fighter sacrificed a lot to free the nation from the British colonial.
Shaheed Diwas is observed to commemorate the sacrifice, courage and heroism of three great revolutionaries. The Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar got arrested in the Lahore conspiracy case. They had been arrested for assassinating John Saunders, a British police officer in 1928 in Lahore jail.
Bhagat Singh was just 23 years old when he was hanged. But his revolutionary ideas were very broad and niche. Not only his ideas inspired millions of Indian youth to fight for freedom, but even today his thoughts are used to motivate the youth.
Bhagat Singh raised the slogan of Inquilab. He may have clung to the shackles of the British rule in his last time but he used to speak freely. He used to say that a better life can be lived only in his own ways. This life is yours and you have to decide what to do in life. Bhagat Singh used to say, I am such a maniac who is free even in jail and every particle of ash is moving from my heat.
Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar was an Indian revolutionary and a senior member of Hindustan Socialist Republican Association. He was born on May 15, 1907, and hanged to death on March 23, 1931. Sukhdev participated in numerous revolutionary activities, one of them is the 'Prison hunger strike' in 1929.
Shaheed Shivaram Hari Rajguru was just 23 years old when he was hanged. He was born on August 24, 1908. He was a member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association
The life of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev give us the inspiration of patriotism.
