Today India is celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of the father of the nation ‘Mahatma Gandhi’. The birth date of Mahatma Gandhi is also observed as the ‘International Day of Non-Violence’.
Mahatma Gandhi always stood for peace and valued it above political and ideological conflicts. He was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist, and political ethicist.
Gandhiji forced the British to bow down without picking up armors. Mahatma Gandhi along with other freedom fighters constrained the Britishers to leave India. His principle of non-violence led India to independence and inspired other movements like; movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.
