Britain's newly appointed Prime Minister Boris Johnson has destinated Preeti Patel as the Home Minister in his cabinet. Preeti Patel is the first woman Home Minister of Indian origin in Britain. 

Earlier Preeti was the part of the Theresa government, but due to allegations of secret meetings with Israel, she resigned from her post.

Priti was born on 29 March 1972 to Sushil and Anjana Patel in Harrow, London. Her parents are originally from Gujarat, India but moved to Uganda. 

Preeti Patel has pursued her academic studies from Westfield Tech College. She has studied Economics at Keele University and then pursued postgraduate studies in 'British Government and Politics' at the University of Essex.

Preeti was the key member of the Conservative Party Leadership for 'Back Boris' campaign. She is also a big fan of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Preeti Patel will replace Sajid Javid of Pakistan origin, who has been appointed as the first Minority Chancellor of the UK's Finance Ministry.

According to media reports, Preeti Patel said, "We will put our full effort to protect our country, to protect our people and to fight against crime. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead. ' 

47-year-old Preeti Patel was chosen as MP of Conservative Party for the first time in 2010 from Witham City of Essex County. At that time she was holding the position as the MP of overseas Indian in the Tori government led by David Cameron.

In the year 2014, Preeti was appointed as the cabinet minister & Treasury Minister. She was appointed for the post of Employment Minister after the general election of 2015. 

Prior to this, she was promoted to the post of State Secretary in the Department of International Development in 2016. Later, she resigned from the post in 2017 because of her involvement in a secret meeting with Israel.

Preeti Patel is seen as a pro-Indian leader who favours strong relations between the two countries. It is hoped that after the formation of the new government, India's fugitive economic criminals be punished.

Soon after holding the charge of Home Minister by Preeti Patel, expectations of favourable decisions raised in the case of fugitive Vijay Mallya and Neerav Modi.
