All You Need to Know About Bhagat Singh on His 112th Birth Anniversary

Today, September 28, 2019, is observed as the birth anniversary of the great revolutionary martyr Bhagat Singh. Every single child of the country has grown up listening to the story of Bhagat Singh. 

The great revolutionary Bhagat Singh was hanged by the Britishers in Lahore jail at 7:30 am on 23 March 1931. He was sentenced to death in a 300-page judgment. He was fighting against the British government for the independence of the country. But even after 70 years of India's independence, the government does not consider him a martyr in the documents. However, the public considers him a 'Shaheed-e-Azam'.

Today, on September 28, the 112th birth anniversary of India's great freedom fighter Bhagat Singh is being celebrated. Today on his birth anniversary, we are going to tell you some interesting facts related to his life;

- Bhagat Singh was born on September 28, 1907, in Banga village of Lailpur district of Punjab province(now in Pakistan).

- When Bhagat Singh was 12 years old he visited Jallianwala Bagh without telling anyone and returned home after taking the soil.

- Bhagat Singh's father Kishan Singh, his uncles Ajit Singh and Swarn Singh were also a freedom fighter.

- His father and uncle were also the members of the Gadar Party.

- Bhagat Singh considered Kartar Singh Sarabha as his ideal.

- According to sources, the first turning point in Bhagat Singh's life came in 1919 when he was about 12 years old.

- Bhagat Singh studied at DAV High School in Lahore.

- He has knowledge of many languages. He knew very well English, Hindi, Urdu, he also had a special grip on Punjabi.

- Many films have been made related to Bhagat Singh's personality as well as his life. 

- Also, when he was in jail he had written an article which was published in 'The People' Newspaper on September 27, 1931.

- Bhagat Singh formed the Indian National Youth Organization in the college.

- At the age of 16, Bhagat Singh's family tried to settle his marriage which made him angry and he ran away from the home.

- Along with being a good theatre artist, his educational record was also good.

- The great revolutionary Bhagat Singh was hanged by the British in Lahore at 7:30 am on 23 March 1931.


In April 2013, an RTI was filed in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs regarding Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, asking when Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were given martyr status. If not, what process is going on this? 
The surprising reply came from the Ministry of Home Affairs on May 9. It said that no information is available in this regard. Since then, the descendants of Shaheed-e-Azam (great-grandson) Yadvendra Singh Sandhu have been campaigning against the government.
