1. NASA's Kepler Space Telescope retires after nine years of discovering planets
The Kepler Space Telescope mission that explored NASA's planets has ended.
This telescope is going to retire after nine years of service. Scientists have said that Kepler telescope, which helps in the search of 2,600 planets, has finished fuel so it is retiring.
According to NASA, Kepler's sign of fuel finish was only about two weeks ago.
Scientists have been able to collect all the data from there before even its fuel is completely exhausted. NASA says that at the moment Kepler is in a safe orbit away from Earth.
2. IIT Madras prepared India's first indigenous microprocessor 'Shakti'
Indian Institute of Technology Madras has developed and designed India's first indigenous microprocessor.
This microprocessor has been named 'Shakti'.
The indigenous microprocessor will soon help to power mobile phones, surveillance cameras and smart meters.
It has been built with Microchip in the Semiconductor Lab of Indian Space Research Organization, Chandigarh.
Kamakoti Vizinathan, Lead Research Professor of Rise Lab, at IITM, says that in the current Digital India, a lot of apps require customized processor cores.
With all our new designs, all these things will be quite easy.
This will reduce dependence on imported micro chips.
Also, the risk of cyber attacks caused by these micro chips will also be lower.
3. Atomic submarine Arihant successfully completed the first patrol campaign
India's strategic nuclear submarine, i.e. Nuclear submarine INS Arihant, has successfully completed its first patrol operation on 5th November 2018.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met officials and personnel of nuclear submarine INS Arihant on this occasion.
With this practice of submarine Arihant, India's nuclear triangle was fully established.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “ I congratulate the crew of INS Arihant and all those who are involved in the work which will always be remembered in history, on this occasion.
He also said that this achievement creates India in the front line of the few selected countries which have the capability to design, build and operate the SSBN.
4. Railway Ministry launches unregistered mobile ticketing facility
The Central Railway Ministry has launched the UTS (Unregistered Ticketing System) Mobile App for the passengers to get rid of long lines for ticketing.
Through this app, the passenger can book tickets on his Android mobile. With this app, unexpected tickets, season tickets and platform tickets can be booked.
Now passengers will not need to stand in long queues for tickets.
This ticket will be paperless.
This will not waste the paper, while the environment will also be encouraged.
From this, platform tickets, unreserved tickets and monthly passes can also be made.
This app will not require internet to show tickets to TTE. This service is cashless.
5. US gives eight countries including India-China to import oil from Iran
The US has allowed eight countries including India-China to import oil from Iran.
The other six countries are Japan, Italy, Greece, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey.
This information was given by US Secretary Mike Pompeo.
US sanctions on Iran's petroleum and banking sectors came into effect from November 05, 2018.
These are the most stringent restrictions on Iran.
It is expected that this restriction will change the behavior of the Iranian government.
According to information received from the government oil companies, India will have to buy 12.5 lakh tonnes of crude oil from Iran every month till May 2019.
In this way, Indian oil companies will be able to compromise to buy 75 million tonnes of additional crude oil.
India had bought 2.25 million tonnes of crude oil from Iran in 2017.
Until last year, India had bought the largest oil from Iran after Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Iran had become India's second largest oil supplier for the first three-four months of the year 2018.
