1. NASA's Parker Solar probe becomes the closest spacecraft to the Sun


The first spacecraft Parker Solar Probation sent by NASA to study the Sun and its external environment has become the closest human-made spacecraft to Sun.

NASA tweeted this achievement and said, "We have reached closer to the sun."

The spacecraft has broken the records of passing around 4.3 million kilometers of the Sun.

Earlier this record was held with the German-American space station Helius II.

As for the Parker Solar probe, it will study the Sun for seven years after sunset.

This spacecraft will be near the outer layer of the Sun, i.e. near Corona.

Corona's temperature is 10 million degrees Celsius.

The purpose of this NASA mission is to study the effects of corona on the surface of the Earth.

 

2. India ranked 77th in Ease of Doing Business

In the World Bank's 'Ease of Doing Business' report, India has achieved tremendous leap of 23 places and has ranked 77th.

The World Bank released the Ease of Doing Business Report on 31 October 2018.

This ranking of India is the best performance ever. India's position in 8 out of ten standards has improved.

In fact, India was ranked first in the top 100 in the list of 190 countries last year.

In the last two years, India is among the Top 10 countries that have improved the ranking of the Ease of Doing Business Index.

At the same time, India's Rank is First in South Asian Countries. Earlier, India was at number 6 in the year 2014.


3. Rohit Sharma, who made the fastest 200-plus batsmen in ODIs

Rohit Sharma became the fastest 200-odd players in ODI history during the fifth match against the West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram on 01 November 2018.

Rohit Sharma achieved this milestone in the fifth and final ODI against West Indies when he hit fours in an innings of 63 not out.

Rohit Sharma, popularly known as the hitman, hit the second half as he batted, joining the list of players who have scored double centuries in ODIs.

Rohit Sharma has become the second Indian and overall 7th batsman after Mahendra Singh Dhoni to achieve this feat.

4. India successfully tested the Agni-1 ballistic missile
 

India successfully conducted a nightly test of the indigenously built Agni-1 ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear weapons on November 30, 2018.

The Strategic Force Command examined the missile from Dr. Abdul Kalam Island to strengthen the campaign preparations.

Sources said that the test was successful and said that all the targets have been acquired during the trial.

Agni-1 missile is an atom-able nuclear-capable missile from the surface developed from indigenous technology.

Missile can be launched by rail or road type of mobile launchers. 

This missile can distinguish the target of 700 kilometers.

Its firepower is quite high and it can destroy the enemies by spending hundreds of kilometers.

 

5. Odisha Government launches 'Saura Jalnidhi' scheme Odisha

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the 'Saura Jalnidhi' scheme on October 30, 2018.

The objective of this scheme is to encourage the use of solar energy in irrigation by farmers.

The state government has decided to increase the use of solar photo-voltaic pump sets in those areas so that the irrigation facilities can be provided where the power system is bad.

Under this scheme, farmers will be given 90 percent subsidy and 5,000 solar pumps.

This will provide irrigation benefits in 2,500 acres of the state.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also launched the web portal of the scheme.

The farmers of 30 districts participated in this event through video conferencing.
