World Food Day 2018: A Healthy Food Habit will Lead a Healthy Life
World Food Day 2018

Every year across the world, October 16 is observed as World Food Day.

Have we ever stopped for a second from our work and thought of the reason we are able to work for this long time? Have we ever given it a thought about the source of our energy’s source?

We make a list of lavish food items, we feel like having every time we go out, or why to only think of the lavish food items, even our normal food we eat every day.

Have we ever thought of the base of it?

We mostly don’t pay attention to these important things.

To at least remember the base of our living, we celebrate this day as World Food Day every year.

This day is celebrated annually to honor the founding date of the Food and Agriculture Organization.

Food and Agriculture Organization was launched by the United Nations in the year 1945.

This day is enthusiastically celebrated mostly by the organizations concerning food security such as the International Fund for Agriculture Development, the World Food Program, and others.

The World Food Day was established in November 1979 by the member countries of the Food and Agriculture Organization.

It was established at the 20th General Conference of the organization.

Why is it Celebrated?

The basic reason behind launching and celebrating world food day is to secure as well as advance the food security across the world. So that benefits us in the days of the crisis.

Not only speaking but since the Food and Agriculture Organization has been formed by the United Nations, it has given a big contribution and has also played an important role in making things possible practically.

The celebration works not only practically but also creates an awareness among a large number of people.

Awareness regarding the crucial need for the effective agriculture and food policies that should be implemented by the governments to make sure there is enough food available for everyone worldwide.

In India, World Food Day is marked as an occasion to highlight the importance of healthy eating habits and avoiding unhealthy food in urban India.

Despite these celebrations, most people in India are not aware of this day. Not only NGOs but also other organizations and private institutes should make sure to utilize this kind of events to spread a word of the healthy living and eating to the students as well as organize awareness camps in the nearby metro areas.

This will not only help in creating awareness but also spread healthy food habits, which might result in a healthy celebration of this day next year.
