Best-rated Bachelor of Education colleges will be left out of the regulatory regime of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) as stated by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry recently which aims to overhaul teachers’ training in India.

Colleges which are rated ‘best’ will be out of NCTE’s regulatory regime. Teacher training institutes will be ranked by NCTE and plans to provide the list of top 100 institutes in January 2018.

“The reason is to observe the BEd colleges existing only in name should not be recognized for the purpose of imparting education.

They will also evaluate each college who have submitted their affidavits and they have the sets of ratings and the idea is the best rated of college will only have to furnish documents and there will be no other control thereafter,” said Anil Swarup, secretary, School education and literacy.

He also added that NCERT books can be ordered by the private school on it’s website which is coming up in August. “ through the website orders can be made by schools so that an advance preparation is made and entire supply chain is managed and on time books are available,” he stated
