About Alfred Nobel

Alfred Nobel (1833-1896) was born on 21 October 1833 in Stockholm, Sweden.

He is known for inventing dynamite.

Nobel registered 355 patents in his name, but his most famous invention is dynamite.

Alfred Nobel died on December 10, 1896, at the age of 63.

Alfred Nobel, in his will, had mentioned that there would be particular institutions that will choose qualified candidates for the Nobel Prize.

As the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences selects the Nobel Prize Winner in Physics and Chemistry, while Karolinska Institute; Selects the winner in the field of medical, the Swedish Academy selects the Nobel Prize winner in the literature and a committee of five persons is formed by the Norwegian Parliament, which selects the Nobel Peace Prize winner.

The Nobel Prize for economics was started in 1968 but the responsibility of selecting Nobel in this field is with the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
