Sanjay has been working with Shiksha Sambal Project in a village school in Rajasthan.

His story shows that without any resources education can be provided in small cities and villages to the unprivileged students. This is the purest example of education has no boundaries.

Know what Shiksha Sambal is:

For many students in government, schools were failing in class 10, which make them leave the schools after their results.
Most of the students struggle in English, Science and Mathematics (SEM) subjects.

And there are often shortages of teachers in government schools for these subjects.

The Shiksha Sambal Project was started with an aim to address these challenges by strengthening the learning of SEM subjects.

This is a Flagship Project by Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL).

It is being implemented in 55 senior government schools located in Ajmer, Bhilwada, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Udaipur and other districts of Rajasthan.

Currently, Siksha Sambal has reached out to over 7,000 students from classes 9th to 12th.

About the project

It works on two strategies: working with students by providing support classes and study materials, conducting residential camps, remedial classes and regular assessments.

The other strategy is -- working with schools for improving student’s learning environment by providing subject specialists instructors, establishing science labs and libraries, providing study materials for teachers and organising teachers training.

The project also has a unique mentorship provision, wherein HZL employees provide outside school support to children.
The provision is being implemented in partnership with Vidya Bhawan Society, Udaipur.
