VCET, Puttur Receives a Grant of Rs 40 lakh for the Academic Year 2017-18

For the academic year 2017-18 Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology (VCET), Puttur has received Rs 40 lakh of research grant from Government of Karnataka.

 

Over nine decades in the region of Karnataka, Vivekanand Sangha has been the forerunner in the field of education. The organisation has always aimed to impart quality education by maintaining standards of discipline, sense of duty and moral values among its students.

 

The research was submitted by Sowmya N J, professor of civil engineering under the scheme KFIST- level 2 to Vision Group on Science Technology (VGST).

 

The research grant got sanctioned on the proposal of research on ‘Effect of land use changes and soil properties on soil conservation of Puttur Taluk of Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka’.

 

Govind Gowda, principal of the organization put into notice that in higher educational institutions Karnataka Fund for Infrastructure Strengthening in Science and Technology (KFIST) provide financial support towards strengthening of infrastructure facilities.

Strengthening of infrastructure facility includes facilities such as basic laboratory space, acquisition of essential modern equipment, upgradation of existing facilities and networking and computational facilities.

 

The grant will increase the facilities of research center of the civil engineering department of VCET, Puttur and will even facilitate the students as well as the research scholar to reach their goal.
