Special Admission Drive 2018: Delhi School of Journalism Has Released Dates for Spot Allotment

The Delhi University’s Delhi School of Journalism has released the date for the Special Drive Admission for the Five-year integrated program (FYIP) course in Journalism.

The date for Spot Allotment: August 24, 2018 (Friday)
Reporting Time: 12.30pm
Categories: OBC/SC/ST/PWD
Venue: Room no. G-4 University Sports Complex, Delhi School of Journalism

Admission granted at the time of Spot Allotment will be Provisional

Admission to DSJ will be considered complete subject to the following:
(i) Document Verification.
(ii) Payment of fee within the prescribed time-limit.

Fee Payment deadline: Fees to be paid before 12.00 noon on August 25, 2018.

Rules for the Spot Allotment

1. Candidates are required to reach the venue at the time specified for allotment. The candidates must carry with them a copy each of Class 12 mark-sheet other documents and the reserved category certificate (if applicable).

2. Candidates shall be called according to their rank.

3. Candidates are required to appear in person for the allotment.

4. The candidates who are provided with a provisional admission slip shall be required to seek admission on 13 and 14 August 2018 and pay the fees, failing which the admission shall not be provided to them.

5. Waiting list candidates shall be invited subject to the availability of seats on the afternoon of 14 August 2018. Such candidates shall be required to complete their admission formalities on 16 August 2018.

The procedure of spot admission:

The candidates have to follow the following steps in order to participate in SPOT round for admission:

1. The candidate must appear in person at the DSJ according to the spot-counselling schedule as announced on the Admission Portal. If a candidate fails to present herself on the specified round at the date and time assigned in the Spot allotment schedule, she/he forfeits her candidature and will not be considered. The allotment of seats to the candidates will be made only when they personally attend the spot allotment session at the designated date and time.

2. Candidate must bring the relevant certificates/documents and admit card for DSJ Entrance Examination, which needs to be produced at the time of allotment failing which seat in spot round will not be offered.

3. The allotment will commence from highest rank onwards for each category. Allocation of a seat at DSJ will be strictly on the basis of merit in the entrance examination and availability of seats in the colleges at that point in time. Tie-breaking rules as stipulated in the UG bulletin shall be applicable. All rules of the category in which admission is sought shall be applicable.

4. The candidates offered provisional admission during the spot round must submit the copies of their certificates (in case admitted in any other course/college) or Original Certificates for If the candidate fails to take admission within the stipulated time as mentioned in the schedule the offer would stand cancelled.

5. The candidates who are issued provisional admission letter during Spot round will have to report to DSJ for verification of required documents along with the admission form within the stipulated period of time, as per the counselling schedule.
 
6. Once DSJ approves the admission of the candidate online, a fee link will be activated in the candidate‘s portal. The candidate must pay the fee online within the stipulated time, failing which her allotted seat will stand automatically cancelled.

Important Instructions

1. Candidates are advised to carefully exercise their choice before accepting the offer admission in the Spot Round. If the candidate cancels the admission after spot round she/he will not be considered for admission in DSJin subsequent rounds, if any.

2. The number of candidates called for ‘Spot Allotment’ is higher than the actual number of seats available in all categories. However, a waiting list will be prepared from the candidates present for the spot allotment.

3. If the seats remain vacant after expiry of payment deadlines, the same will be offered to the candidates on the waiting list. Keep checking the website for the list of candidates who may be offered seats further (if required).

4. If the candidate fails to pay the fee within the specified time period, the offer will automatically stand withdrawn and the seat will be allotted to the next candidate in the waiting list.
