UPSC CSE Second Topper Garima Attributes Success to Online Preparation
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, the final result of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 was released by the Union Public Service Commission. Along with this, Garima Lohia, a resident of Bihar's Buxar district, secured the second position in the entire country in the list of toppers released by UPSC. In a special conversation with Amar Ujala, Garima shared that she prepared while staying in Buxar.
She did this preparation through online mediums. She credited her success to her parents, teachers, and friends. Garima mentioned that she graduated in commerce from Delhi University and started preparing for UPSC during that time, eventually achieving success. She has a mother, brother, and an elder sister.
Garima was shattered after her father's death. Garima Lohia completed her schooling at Wood Stock School, Buxar. Her father, Narayan Prasad Lohia, passed away four years ago. Her courage was shattered after his departure. However, she managed to pick herself up and achieve this success through hard work.
She mentioned that she placed more emphasis on self-study and utilized social media platforms for general knowledge. Preparing for this exam is very challenging, but that does not mean one should be discouraged. Garima advised doing what makes you happy, being with family, and continually boosting one's morale. She wanted to credit her mother for her success.
