Maharashtra SSC Result 2020: Big Relief to Class 10, Students to Get Average Marks for Cancelled Geography Exam

The Class 10 Geography paper was cancelled by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) due to Covid-19 pandemic. An announcement was made on Wednesday that the board will award an average of marks obtained in other subjects for the Geography exam. 

The geography exam was earlier scheduled to be conducted on March 23, 2020, but got cancelled due to the pandemic. 
The circular stated, "Since the pending Geography paper was cancelled, the board has decided to award SSC students an average of marks obtained in the written examination of other subjects".

It also stated that a similar rule will be applied in case of a vocational subject exam for differently-abled students.

"An average of marks obtained in written, oral, practical and internal evaluation of other subjects will be awarded for the subject," the notice read.

This year more than 17 lakh students appeared for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams in Maharashtra.
