Step up the style quotient this winter with designer Vijaya Lakshmi Dogra's new range of jackets that are not only reversible, but also light in weight.
"These jackets are extremely stylish and can be teamed up with pants and regular churidars. Their elegance and simplicity makes them perfect for any occasion be it a casual dinner or a wedding celebration. Also the interesting motifs in golden applique embroidery makes it more elegant," said Dogra, whose clientele includes US Seccretary of State Hillary Clinton, Hollywood star Jessica Cauffiel and Indian actresses Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, Saba Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Kirron Kher.
Dogra has used natural or handwoven materials such as brocades and benarasi silks in colour palette like deep reds, sunburst, midnight blue, old rose, turquoise, bottle green, ivory, charcoal and ash grey, mixed with gold and silver.
"The collection imbibes and contemporises the timeless beauty of classical designs of the Indian Royalty and brings to life scenes from nature and art, making the clothes seem like works of art," the designer told.
And for those who are not fans of long jackets, Dogra has something unique to offer.
"For those who are not a fan of long jackets there are short jackets (also known as bolero jackets) in thread embroidery, which can be worn over a kurta or any other Indian or western outfit without the attire losing its style quotient.
The collection is available from the designer with prices on request.
