The position of chemist trainee in government organizations is ranked to be at a level of  Group 'C’.

The work of Chemist Trainee is that the person should do a chemical analysis of different samples in accordance with the instructions of senior staff in the organization or organization, data entry of received findings and make necessary reports of analysis.

 

Eligibility for Chemist Trainee?

To become a chemist trainer, it is essential that the candidate must have an MSc degree in chemistry from a recognized university or institute.

Mostly priority is given to those who are qualified in Analytical Chemistry.


Also, the candidate should have one-year work experience or one-year apprenticeship training in the concerned area, which can be listed such as refining, petroleum, power, lube, petrochemical, fertilizer, chemical industry etc.



The age limit for a chemist trainee post?

To become a Chemist trainer, it is important that the candidate is between 18 years and 30 years of age.

Reserved category candidates are exempted according to the maximum age limit as per government rules.

For some candidates in the field of work experience related to the area concerned, according to this the maximum age limit may be 35 years or more.

 

Selection Process for Chemist Trainee?

The selection of candidates is done by the Staff Selection Commission and for the post of Chemist Trainee,  it is usually done on the basis of merit, written examination, skill test, medical test.

Written Examination

The written examination consists of questions of multiple choice in which there are questions related to technical, general attitudes, quantitative attitudes, reasoning abilities, general awareness, and basic English language.

Candidates who pass the written examination are called for Skill Test which is just the nature of qualifying.

Candidates who are able to qualify the Skill test are called for a pre-employment medical test.


Salary of a chemist trainer?

In the post of Chemist Trainee, salary payable in the public sector undertakings of the Sixth Pay Commission is payable in accordance with the pay-band IV (Rs.13,500-31000 / -).

Along with this, different types of allowances and benefits are given by the government.

At the same time, the pay scale in the departments and institutions of the State Governments is given at the equivalent level of the respective state in accordance with the prescribed scale of pay, which can vary according to the state.
