For the Uttar Pradesh Teachers’ Eligibility Test (UP-TET 2018), a record number of 22.77 lakh interested candidates registered themselves according to a report of Times of India.

Amidst plethora of complaints about slowing down of server, the registration process ended on Sunday October 7, 2018 .

 

Due to the digital glitch many candidates were not able to register them selves and even demanded for increasing the deadline of the registrations.

 

This years there are the highest number of applications for the examination has been recorded since it started in 2011.

 

The process of registrations started from September 18. Due to technical snag for over two weeks, the State Government was forced to revise the schedule. Even the National Information Centre (NIC) had to come out with a new URL address for the registration.

 

Despite of these changes there were plethora of complaints filed by the candidates about slowing down of server till the last day of registration.

 

The aspirants also pleaded the authority to extend the date of registration but ERA declared that the deadline would not be extended for the second time, later in the evening.

Now as per the schedule the candidates can deposit their fees till today while the application process can be completed and the candidates can take out the printout of the form, on October 9, 2018.

 

“About the slowing down of server, there were many complaints from the candidates. Around 10am the problem was detected but was immediately fixed by the engineers”, Anil Bhushan Chaurvedi, Secretary, Examination Regulatory Authority to TOI.

 

He added that “the fees related process was completed between 7 to 12 noon on Sunday by around 1.50 lakh candidates. This directly indicates that the technical glitch was removed after the complaints were received.”

 

“Now there is no possibility of increasing the deadline that too for the second time.

The examination will conducted on November 4, 2018 and the results will be announced within a month as per the schedule released by the State Basic Education Department”: Secretary
