Candidates who had missed their last attempt for UPSC CSE Prelims 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic are now getting a chance to appear to the exam, Center government agrees.
On 25 January, the central government had told the Supreme Court that due to COVID-19, an additional chance to the students who could not appear in the last attempt examination in 2020 will affect the entire examination system.
This decision of the government, a bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar, had expressed displeasure over it and said that the affidavit filed before it was not clear at what level the decision was taken.
The bench hearing the case includes Justice BR Gavai and Justice Krishna Murari. The bench had said that this general affidavit has been filed by an officer of the rank of Under Secretary. The bench said that this is a policy decision.
