The examination schedule for the Civil Services (Main) Exam 2019 has been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
The schedule is available on the official website i.e. upsc.gov.in.

UPSC CSE (Main) 2019: Exam dates
The Civil Services (Main) Exam 2019 has been scheduled to be conducted from September 20 to September 29, 2019, by the commission.
Exam pattern of UPSC CSE Main Exam 2019
Written examination:
It will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type in the subjects set out of which two papers will be of qualifying in nature.
Candidates will be given the final rank on the basis of the marks obtained in the main examination (written part as well as interview).
Those who qualify mains will be shortlisted for the interview round.
Interview round:
The candidates, opting for Indian Language medium for the written part of the Civil Services (Main) examination, may choose either the same Indian Language or English or Hindi as the medium for the interview as well.
The interview will carry 275 marks with no minimum qualifying marks.
Selection procedure for UPSC CSE 2019:
The competitive examination comprises of two successive stages:
- Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination.
- Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts.
