UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2021 Guidelines - PC : My Result Plus

The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2021 is scheduled to be conducted tomorrow, 10th October 2021. Before appearing in the examination, the candidates must know the exam day instructions and guidelines. The candidates can also check the same by visiting the official website of UPSC- upsc.gov.in.


The civil services preliminary exam will be conducted tomorrow by following all the Covid-19 protocols issued by the state and central government. In view of the Covid-19 outbreak, the CSE Prelims Exam 2021 was delayed. The candidates are required to follow the instructions as not doing so, the candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. 

UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021: Exam Day Guidelines and Instructions

  • As per the official instructions, the candidates are required to reach the exam venue at least 10 minutes before the starting time of the examination. The latecomers will not be allowed to appear for the exam. 
  • The candidates must carry their admit card along with a valid government-issued identity card. All these documents will be checked at the entrance of the exam venue. 
  • The candidates must fill the OMR sheet very carefully. 
  • The candidates are instructed not to bring any electronic devices inside the exam hall. However, the candidates can wear a normal analogue watch. 
  • Use only a black ballpoint pen for filling the responses. 
  • Those candidates who are attending the exam tomorrow with a help of the scribe must ensure that the scribe has an e-admit card. 
  • Wearing a face mask is mandatory for the candidates. A bottle of sanitiser can also be carried to the exam hall.

UPSC CSE Prelims 2021 Exam Timing:

As mentioned above, the entrance gate will be closed 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the exam. The candidates must reach the exam centre before 9.20 am for the morning session, 2.20 pm for the afternoon session. The candidates will not be allowed to enter if they come late. 

The qualifying candidates for the UPSC CSE Prelims Exam 2021 will be eligible to appear for the Mains exam which is likely to be conducted in January 2022. Following the Mains Exam, the qualifying candidates will have to appear for the Personality Test- Interview. The candidates can visit the official website for more detailed information and updates.
