Supreme Court: NEET, JEE 2020 to be Conducted on the Scheduled Date, New Guidelines to be Released Before the Exam

The plea for postponement of JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 has been dismissed by the Supreme Court yesterday i.e. August 18, 2020. The petition, filed by a group of students and parents, demanding postponement of JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 entrance exams has been dismissed by the Supreme Court. The court has stated that they cannot put the careers of the lakhs of students in jeopardy as the whole academic year is at stake. 


Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency has released the admit card for the JEE Mains 2020. The examination for JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 will be conducted on the scheduled date. 

However, the NTA will be giving some extra guidelines to prevent the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

- The NTA will add extra guidelines on precautionary measures in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The candidates should carefully read the exam day instructions and follow them on the exam day.
- To lessen the possibility of infection, NTA may ask candidates to wear face masks and hand gloves on the JEE Main exam day
- Candidates will not be allowed to cover their heads with cap, dupatta, etc. Candidates who wear kara or kirpan due to religious reason must report to the exam centre 1.5 hours prior to the gate closing time and inform the officials.
- The candidates will not be allowed to bring any metallic objects -- watch, ornaments, jewellery -- and communication devices, handbags, etc. to the examination venue.

JEE Main 2020
The JEE Main Exam 2020 would be conducted in two shifts- first shift and second shift. The first shift would be conducted from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and the second shift would be conducted from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Each shift will be for 3 hours. The examination would be a computer-based test and the subjects included are Physics, Chemistry, General Aptitude, and Mathematics.

NEET 2020 
NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2020 is scheduled for September 13, 2020. The admit cards are expected to be released 15 days ahead of the exam dates.
