CSIR UGC NET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET 2024). The CSIR UGC NET 2024 exam was scheduled to be conducted from 25 to 27 June 2024 stands deferred. The advance exam city slip was hosted on the official website.

According to the official notice, “The candidates are hereby informed that the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Examination June-2024 which was scheduled to be held between 25.06.2024 to 27.06.2024 is being postponed due to unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues.”

The admit card for the CSIR UGC NET 2024 exam will be issued as per the revised schedule. The revised dates for the exam will be released on the official website i.e. csirnet.nta.ac.in. This exam is conducted to determine eligibility for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), assistant professor, and admission to PhD. 

After the cancellation of the UGC NET, several universities, professors, and student groups have expressed concern over delayed PhD admission and disruption of the academic cycle. The University Grants Commission (UGC) decided to offer admission into PhD programs through NET score.

The CSIR-UGC-NET exam is conducted twice a year i.e.June and December in five subjects, including Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences in computer-based format. Last year, over 1.75 lakh students appeared in the December edition of the exam. This year, more than 2 lakh students have registered for it.
