NIFT conducts the entrance exam for admission to Master of Fashion Management, Master of Design, Masters of Fashion Technology, Bachelors of Design and Bachelors of Fashion Technology programmes. For shortlisting the candidates, NIFT conducts Creative Ability Test (CAT) and GAT (General Ability Test).
NIFT - Educational Criteria
Bachelor Programmmes – Design – B.Des.
The candidates wishing to apply for the exam should have completed their Class 12 examination from any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Education.
Even with a General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible to apply.
Bachelor Programme – Technology
The candidates wishing to apply for the exam should have completed their Class 12 examination from any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Education.
Even with a General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible to apply.
Moreover, the candidate who has got 3 or 4 years diploma in any branch of engineering from a recognized institute can also apply and appear for the exam.
For Master Programmes :
Age Criteria: There is no age limit for the candidates appearing for the entrance exam of Masters Degree.
Eligibility for Master Programme – Design
The candidates who are interested to appear in the exam should have an undergraduate degree in any discipline from any recognized institute UG Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.
Eligibility for Master Programme – Management
M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management):
The candidates should have a UG degree or diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.
Eligibility for Master Programme – Technology
M.F.Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology)
The candidates should have a B.F.Tech. Degree from NIFT or B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognised by law in India.
