The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is an entrance exam that is held for admission to five-year integration M.Sc programme at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar in biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics and the department of atomic energy centre for excellence in basic science, University of Mumbai.
NEST 2019 will be a computer-based test (CBT) which will consist of multiple choice questions.
NEST 2019: Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who wish to apply for the exam must have at least 60 per cent marks in class 12 or equivalent.
Admission will be based on merits.
NEST 2019: Exam Pattern
The exam will consist of five sections, the sections will be MC- based. The mode of language of the question paper will be English only.
Section 1: This section will be General Section which will carry 30 marks. Merit list will be created on the basis of this section.
Section 2 to 5: All the sections will consist of subject- specific questions from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Each section will carry 50 marks. The best three subject scores will be considered.
Note* There will not be any negative marking for the wrong answer.
Application Fees
The candidates who wish to apply for the exam will have to deposit a total of Rs 1000 as an application fees.
This fee is applicable to the candidates who belong to the unreserved and OBC category.
For the candidates who belong to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, PWD category and the female candidates will have to deposit a total of Rs 500 as an application fees.
