NEET 2022 Exam pattern: The National Testing Agency (NTA), the official exam conducting body for NEET UG 2022, has initiated the application process for the exam. Registrations are ongoing on the official website of NTA at neet.nta.nic.in and the deadline for application form submission is May 6. Eligibility criteria, application fees and other details are available on the aforementioned website.

As mentioned in the information bulletin for NEET UG 2022, the exam pattern comprises four subjects. Each subject will contain two sections. While there will be 35 questions in Section A, a total of 15 questions will be in Section B. Out of the 15 questions in Section B, candidates can attempt any 10 questions.

NEET 2022: Marking scheme for Section A

Candidates can refer to the marking scheme for Section A, which has been mentioned below.
  1. 4 marks shall be awarded for every correct answer.
  2. 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  3. No marks will be awarded for unattempted questions.
  4. In case more than one option is found to be correct, 4 marks will be awarded only to those candidates who have filled any of the correct options.
  5. If none of the options is found to be correct or a question is dropped, all appearing candidates will be awarded 4 marks, irrespective of the fact that they have attempted the question or not.
NEET 2022: Marking scheme for Section B

Candidates are required to go through the marking scheme for Section B mentioned herewith. 
  1. A candidate is required to attempt 10 questions out of 15. In case a candidate attempts more than 10 questions, the first 10 attempted questions will be evaluated.
  2. Every correct answer will award 4 marks to the candidates.
  3. Every wrong answer will award -1 mark to the candidates.
  4. In case more than one option is found to be correct, 4 marks will be awarded only to those candidates who have filled any of the correct options.
  5. If the question asked is incorrect or a question is dropped, all candidates who have attempted the question will be given 4 marks.
