NEET UG 2024: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation and re-conduct of the NEET UG exam.

This petition was filed by Dr. Vivek Pandey, along with Shivangi Mishra and other students. The petition states that the Bihar Police are already investigating allegations of a NEET exam paper leak.

The petition against the NEET exam will be heard in the Supreme Court today (Tuesday). The Vacation Bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ehsanuddin Amanullah, will hear the petition.

In a related development, a writ petition challenging the NTA's decision to award grace marks to candidates has been filed in the Supreme Court. The petition alleges that the decision to give grace marks in the results is arbitrary. This petition, filed under Article 32 of the Constitution, has been submitted by NEET UG applicant Jaripeta Karthik from Andhra Pradesh.

The NEET UG examination was conducted nationwide on May 5th across 571 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. However, the result of this examination was released not on the scheduled date of June 14th but on June 4th, ten days earlier. This year, a record number of 67 candidates have secured AIR-1 in NEET UG, out of which 6 candidates are from a single center in Haryana.

Some students have scored 718 and 719 out of 720, which is considered impossible given the nature of the examination. This has raised various questions regarding the NEET UG examination. Today, there will be a hearing on the filed petition against NEET UG, so everyone's attention will be on the Supreme Court hearing today.
