NEET 2019: This Time, More Than 2.5 Lakhs Examinees, Competition will Increase
NEET
The number of test takers in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-2019) for admission to courses like MBBS, BDS in medical colleges has increased by more than 2.5 lakhs this time.

About 15 lakhs 76 thousand students have registered this time, whereas NEET 2018 has 13 lakh candidates.

Dr SP Singh, Director of Neutral Expert and New Light Coaching, points out that competition has increased due to the increase in the number of examiners. According to Dr Singh, this time the Supreme Court has allowed more than 25 years old to sit in the examination. This is the reason that the tremendous increase in the number of examiners is being seen.

Another major reason is that many states have decided to enrol themselves as qualified candidates in AYUSH course only. In the previous year, there were separate entrance examinations for the AYUSH course in the states. Dr Singh added that due to errors in the registration and dummy candidates, there may be some reduction in the number of students.

Exam on May 5, error correction from January 14
According to Dr Singh, 2019 will be organized jointly by the National Testing Agency on May 5, across the country. The process for online application has been completed by December 6. Now, if any candidate has made an error in the application form, he will get an error correction from January 14 to January 31. After the examination, results will be issued on June 5.
