NExT Exam: The Union Minister of State for Ayush Prataprao Jadhav announced that the National Exit Test (NExT) for Ayush will be effective for the students of the 2021-22 academic session batch onwards. The decision was taken after a meeting with some representatives of the students of BAMS/BHMS.

The committee has recommended that the NExT be applied to the students enrolled in the 2021-22 academic session under the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) Acts, 2020, eliminating doubts about its implementation.

According to the official statement, the NExT is required for licensing and enrollment in state or national registers after completing a one-year internship. The structure of the NExT is a problem-based examination featuring clinical case scenarios, images, and videos to evaluate practical skills.

The exam is conducted for final-year MBBS students, and it will also provide a license to practice medicine in the country. Additionally, the exam offers a merit-based admission process for students interested in pursuing postgraduate courses. This also ensures that deserving students have a fair opportunity to pursue a specialization in the medical field.
