To control the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the various state government along with the government of India are taking all the necessary measures. As the number of coronavirus cases has been rising day by day in India. The death toll in India has risen to 10 and the number of cases of novel coronavirus has risen to 562.
Due to this pandemic, the government of India has come up with many preventions for different fields accordingly. The government has directed all the exam conducting authority to postpone all the examinations including recruitment, entrance and college exams till April 14, 2020. The government has declared the lockdown upto April 14, 2020.
The Coronavirus has come up to a serious shape in India and the measures are now mandatory to avoid a situation that leads to big gatherings. Social distancing measures are now being strongly encouraged. The step will help the nation and the people to break the chain of transmitting COVID-19 from people to people.
Here is the list of Top 5 Entrance Exams that have been postponed due to coronavirus.
IGNOU OPENMAT 2020:
The National Test Agency, NTA has postponed the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) OPENMAT 2020 Entrance Exam. As the registration process for IGNOU OPENMAT 2020 has been extended by the NTA. There is also a lot of chances of change in the examination date as per the current status of lockdown across the country due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The computer-based test tentatively scheduled to be held on April 29, 2020.
The IGNOU has extended the application process upto March 27, 2020. Earlier the online application process for IGNOU OPENMAT 2020 was concluding on March 23, 2020.
JEE Main April 2020:
The JEE Main April 2020 Exam which was scheduled to be held on 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th April 2020 has been postponed by the National Testing Agency, NTA. The new dates for the JEE Main April Exam 2020 will be announced on March 31, 2020. Also, the admit cards for the examinations which were to be issued on 20th March 2020 will now be issued after 31st March 2020 only.
UP BEd JEE 2020:
The UP BEd JEE 2020 entrance exam has been postponed by the Advisory Committee of Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) due to the coronavirus pandemic. The exam was scheduled to be conducted on April 08, 2020. The Committee has stated that the reason for the postponed exam is the pandemic havoc of novel coronavirus as the government has ordered country-wide lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held on April 08, 2020, now the UP BEd JEE 2020 exam will be tentatively conducted on April 22, 2020.
The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Committee has extended the last date for Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) 2020 Application form. As per the official notice, the application process for the Odisha JEE 2020 has been further extended till March 27, 2020. Earlier the last date to close the application window was March 20, 2020.
The OJEE 2020 entrance examination is likely to be held on May 02 to 05, 2020. As mentioned in the prospectus the admit card would be released on April 20, 2020. But due to the current lockdown situation, there is a huge chance of change in the examination schedule. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website.
MAH CET 2020:
The Maharashtra State Government has postponed the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MAH CET) 2020 due to the nationwide lockdown. Amid the global epidemic of coronavirus, MHT CET 2020 which was earlier scheduled to be held from April 13 to 18, 2020,(excluding April 14, 2020) and from April 20 to 23, 2020, has been postponed further orders.
Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website for the latest updates and don't believe on rumors. The new dates for the entrance examination and to download the admit card will be notified soon on the official website.
