JEE Main 2020: Registrations to begin tomorrow for January Exam

The application process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 January examination is going to begin from tomorrow, September 2, 2019, by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The JEE Main 2020 application form will be available on the official website, nta.ac.in.

The NTA JEE Main January Exam 2020 application process will continue till September 30, 2019. The process will be held for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture colleges across the country.

The candidates who wish to appear for the JEE Mains 2020 January exam can apply through the official website;

- nta.ac.in.

JEE Main January 2020 exam is scheduled to be conducted from January 6, 2019, to January 11, 2019. 

Last year, a total of 9,29,198 students registered for the JEE Main in January and 9,35,741 students appeared for the entrance test in April session, according to the official data provided by the NTA.

According to the schedule published on the official website, "the application process for January exams will be commenced on September 02, 2019, and concludes on September 30, 2019. The admit card will be released in December 2019. JEE Main January 2020 exams will be conducted from January 6, 2019, to January 11, 2019."

JEE Main 2020 January Exam: Eligibility Criteria 

A score of at least 75 per cent in class 12 board exams or a place among the top 20 percentile of the boards is required to be eligible for JEE main or advanced. For candidates of the SC and ST categories, this has been lowered to 65 per cent.

JEE Main 2020: January Exam pattern

JEE Main is for both engineering and architecture entrance. The engineering exam will have three parts – mathematics, physics and chemistry with equal weightage while the architecture entrance exam is will be divided into two parts – part one will be a computer-based test with mathematics and aptitude test and part II will be a drawing test.

The engineering exam will consist of 90 questions, each for four marks. The exam is for 360 marks and each question marks for four marks and for every wrong answer one mark is deducted.

After conducting both the January and April exams, a consolidated rank list will be released. In the meanwhile, separate lists constituting of percentile score will be declared. Among Indian nationals, the candidates who secure a rank in top 2,45,000 are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced which is entrance gateway for admission to IITs. 

The rank list of DASA will be released separately, as informed by the NTA.
