ICAI CA CPT 2018: Registration Begins Tomorrow, Check the Details

The online registrations for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) will begin from tomorrow i.e. October 4, 2018 by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

The registrations will begin tomorrow and end on October 25, 2018 without late fees.

The application fees for the centres in India will be Rs 1000 and as for the centres in Kathmandu, Nepal, the application fees would be Rs 1700. For the candidates who fail to apply till the given date would have to deposit an extra amount of Rs 600 as late fees. The late fees will be applicable till November 1, 2018 only.

The exam is scheduled to be conducted on December 16, 2018.


 

Important Dates

October 4, 2018: the online registration will begin.

October 25, 2018: last date for registration without the late fees.

November 1, 2018: last date for registration after the late fees of extra Rs 600.

December 16, 2018: Date of examination.

 

The Schedule for the exam

The exam will be held in two sessions: Morning session and Afternoon session.

 

Morning Session: The exam will commence at 10:30 am and end at 12:30pm. It will be further divided into two parts Section A which will consist of Fundamentals of Accounting and Section B which will consist of Mercantile Laws.

 

Afternoon Session: the exam will be held from 2pm to 4pm. This will also be divided into two parts Section C which will consist of General Economics and Section D which will consist of Quantitative Aptitude.

 

Eligibility Criteria
 

Educational Criteria
The Candidate should attain a Class 12 passing certificate or an examination which is recognized by the central government.

With board of studies of ICAI on or before June 2017, they should be registered for/switched over to common proficiency course and there registrations should have been revalidated to the course as applicable.

 

Exam Pattern

The exam will be held for the duration of four hours in paper-pencil mode (PP mode).

The questions will be given as objective types and there will be negative marking for the wrong answers.

 

Examination Fees

The fees for the application is required to be submitted online by the online modes such as Visa or Master Credit/debit card/rupay card/net banking.

As mentioned above fees for the centres in India would be Rs 1,000.

For the Centres in Kathmandu, Nepal, the fees would be Rs 1,700 and for the centres in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai and Muscat, the fees would be $300.
