The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the revised exam dates for the AFCAT Group A Gazetted Officer recruitment. As per the official notification, the IAF will conduct the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2020 on October 3 & 4. The examination was earlier scheduled to be held on August 31, 2020. The decision has been taken due to the prevailing situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The IAF has issued an official notice related to this on its website i.e. afcat.cdac.in.

The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted by the Indian Air Force for recruitment to the Short Service Commission, SSC in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. The exam is held twice a year in February and August/September, respectively. 

The application process for the AFCAT- II Group A Gazetted Officer begins on June 15 and concluded on July 14, 2020. The Indian Air Force (IAF) had invited the applications for the posts of AFCAT (02/2020) from the candidates who possess Bachelor’s degree, B.E./B.Tech degree.

The AFCAT- I was conducted on February 22 and 23, 2020. The result for the same was declared on March 17, 2020. AFCAT I 2020 AFSB Interviews scheduled from March 23, 2020, onwards were postponed due to COVID-19 epidemic disease.

IAF AFCAT 2020: Selection process
The selection process of IAF AFCAT 2020 comprises of Stage 1 and Stage 2 written test.
STAGE-I is a screening test. Those who qualify STAGE-I are eligible to undergo STAGE-II testing. STAGE-I disqualified candidates are routed back after the announcement of results.
