Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and country-wide lockdown, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the application process date for the UGC National Eligibility Test June 2020. The decision has been taken as per the current situation prevailing across the country due to novel coronavirus.


The agency has issued the new dates for the application process. As per the revised schedule, the application process for NTA UGC NET 2020 for June session has been further extended to May 16, 2020. Earlier the last date to apply for the application process was April 16, 2020. Candidates who wish to appear for the UGC NET June 2020 should visit the official website and check the revised schedule of the exam. The exam will be conducted for the Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

 

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have cleared/ Appeared a Master’s Degree OR equivalent exam with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of OBC falling in Non Creamy layer/ SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates).

 

JRF: 30 years

 

Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying for Assistant Professor.

 

Application Fee: Pay the Examination Fee through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking/ SBI I Collect/ SBI E Challan submit fee in any SBI Branch.

For Gen: Rs. 1000/-
For OBC-NCL: Rs. 500/-
For SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender: Rs. 250/-

Revised Date for Registration of Online Application: May 16, 2020
Deadline for Submission of Application Fee: May 16, 2020
Online Exam Date: To be Announced
Admit Card Available: June 2020
Result Declared: July 2020

 

How to Apply: Eligible candidates may apply online through NTA UGC NET‘s website ntanet.nic.in from form 16.03.2020 to 16.05.2020.

 

Selection Process: Selection will be based on Online Exam.


The award of JRF and or Eligibility for Assistant Professor depends on the performance Paper-I and paper-II of UGC-NET.

The candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professor are not to be considered for the award of JRF. Candidates who qualify the test for eligibility for Assistant Professor are governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor of the concerned universities/colleges/state governments, as the case may be.
