CLAT Exam - PC : My Result Plus

The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has made several major changes in the CLAT Exam schedule. The decision has been made for the convenience of the candidates. CNLU has already announced to conduct the CLAT exam twice a year. Now it has been told that the CLAT exam will be taken 5 months before the scheduled time. This will be applicable from CLAT 2023. The CLAT 2023 exam, which was earlier scheduled to be held in May 2023, will now be conducted in December 2022.

Experts said that earlier the consortium was discussing conducting the CLAT exam in the month of January. But at this time there is heavy snowfall in the northern part of the country like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this, 12th pre-board examinations are taken in many places. Therefore, the final decision was taken on conducting the examination in the month of December.

Counselling Fee Reduced

CNLU has also made a huge cut in the counselling fee of CLAT. Earlier, where the fee for CLAT counselling was 50 thousand rupees for general category students, now only 30 thousand rupees will have to be paid. At the same time, for the reserved category, this fee has been reduced to 20 thousand rupees.

Earlier CLAT exam was often conducted on the first Sunday of May for admission to various National Law Universities (NLUs) in the country. CNLU, the conducting body of CLAT, has said that now every year the examination will be held in December instead of May. “Most of the entrance examinations are conducted in the month of May-June. In such a situation, there is more pressure on the students for examinations. Many dates clash due to which students sometimes have to choose between two exams. To overcome this problem, we have decided to take CLAT in December itself. Discussion on this was going on since 2019 itself,” said Faizan Mustafa, Founding President of CNLU and VC of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.
