More than 2 lakh students appeared for Common Admission Test 2018 conducted on November 25, 2018. Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Calcutta , the official organizer of CAT, conducted the prestigious management entrance exam in two shifts.


 

The answer key for the same is expected to be released next week according to a report by Indian Express.


For the candidates who appeared for the exam can keep a check on the official website.


The question paper were based on had three sections - Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability. Each section was allotted 60 minutes.

 

CAT exam was conducted by IIM Ahmedabad IIM Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bodh Gaya, Calcutta, Indore, Jammu, Kashipur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shillong, Sirmaur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur and Visakhapatnam.


 

The exam is conducted for the admission to the management programmes of the above mentioned cities.

IIMs call students for the further selection procedure on the basis of the score in CAT examination and other pre-defined criteria.


 

CAT 2018 Exam Date


IIM Calcutta conducted the examinations on Sunday, November 25.

Every year CAT is organized on fourth Sunday of November.

Last year CAT was organized on November 24, 2018.

The CAT examination was held by Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM- Calcutta) on November 25, Sunday.

It was conducted in 147 different cities this year.

Exam pattern

The paper consisted of 100 MCQ and non MCQ questions carrying 300 marks.

It was divided into three sections for solving which the candidates were given a total of 180 minutes.

The first section consisted of reading comprehensive and verbal ability with 34 questions for which a total of 60 minutes will be provided.

The second section consisted of the logical reasoning with 32 questions and analysis of data with a total time of 60 minutes.

The third section contained questions based on quantitative ability with 34 questions for which the candidates were provided a time of 60 minutes.

The exam is conducted for the total timing of three hours in which candidates are given one hour for each section.

IIM Kolkata is convening authority for CAT 2018 and it has released the mock test link on the official website of CAT 2018.
