BSE President, Ramashis Hazra, while addressing the mediapersons, confirmed that the SOSCE and Madhyama (Class 10) exams, which were slated to begin from 11:30 am on May 2 and 4 respectively, will now be conducted from May 9 and 10 onwards in the first sitting, which will begin at 8 am. The revised exam date sheet is expected soon on the official website of BSE Odisha at bseodisha.ac.in.
However, no changes in exam schedule have been announced for the High School Certificate (HSC) exams, which are lined up to be held from April 29. Notably, a total of 5.85 lakh students have registered for the BSE Odisha state board exams. The exam for HSC students will advance at 3, 303 centres.
President Hazra informed that more than 35, 000 teachers would be essaying the role of supervisors/invigilators during the course of the exam. Additionally, the board has also made arrangements for 38 special squads and 65 flying squads to keep a check on cheating and other malpractices. CCTV surveillance cameras will also be installed at all the exam centres to ensure transparent conduct of the exams.
It is noteworthy that the school and mass education department, as well as the higher education department had announced school shutdown earlier, from April 26 until April 30. Alongside schools, the classes will also remain suspended in the colleges and universities of the state from April 27 till May 2.
