The ranking was released on September 11, 2019, and to a surprise, IIT Ropar has made an entry on the list as the Number one among the 56 Indian institutes on the list of the best universities of the world.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru are the best institutes of India and stand at among the top 301-350 universities of the world.
However, this is still a disappointment for India as for the first time after 2012, no Indian University has made up to the top 300 educational institutes of the world.

This university is the second best Indian institute in the world and stands in the same bracket as IISc Bangalore and IIT Ropar

These universities are in the third spot; they are in the top 401-500 universities bracket
Jamia Millia Islamia, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Panjab University, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Thapar University
These universities are among the top 601-800 universities of the world stand.Siksha 'O' Anusandhan and KIIT University from Odisha also made it to the World University Rankings 2020
