Three New PG Diploma Courses Introduced by Home Ministry, Here's Details

The Home Ministry is going to launch three new courses from this academic session 2019-20. These courses will be conducted in the areas of Security Management, Victimology and Victim Assistant, Cyber Crime and Law.


The Ministry is going to launch PG Diploma Courses in these areas. The postgraduate diploma in security management has been developed based on inputs from the industry and experts in the field.

Candidates will also be able to get admission from the academic session 2019-20. The government will soon start the application process for the same.

According to an official spokesperson of the Home Ministry, "these courses will be organised by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. It has also been expected that the classes will be conducted from next month. At present these classes will be run in Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science, Rohini."

According to the government, these courses will prove to be helpful in improving the Criminal Justice system of the country. With the help of these courses, we will get a trained task force in these areas.


What will be the speciality of these courses:

Diploma in security management wILL help students to access careers in national security, corporate security, defence, government, policing and law enforcement, the official said.
- The postgraduate diploma in victimology and victim assistance mainly covers the mainstream subjects of victimology and victims in the criminal justice system.
The diploma in cyber crime and law covers the different types of cyber crimes committed against an individual, organisation or even women and children and the concepts of digital forensics.

How to apply;

- In the syllabus of these courses, the government will include both theoretical and practical aspects.
- Experts in related fields will give guidance on this.
- The duration of all these diploma courses will be one year.
- These courses will give candidates an opportunity to make a career in areas such as National Security, Corporate Security, Defense, Police and Law Enforcement.

Students interested in enrolling in these courses can apply through the official website of Indraprastha University. The application form is available on the website.

The number of seats in each course will be limited to 25. Of these, 20 will be open and 5 for government employees.

Students who get admission to these courses will also get hostel facility in the premises of Jai Prakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences, Rohini.
