In the QS Asia University Ranking 2022, the University of Calcutta has received a great achievement. Calcutta University has bagged the first rank among different state universities in India. In the QS Asia University Ranking, Calcutta University has been ranked 154th in Asia.
The university ranking in the QS Asia University Rankings is computed through the different parameters which include the number of employees holding PhD degrees, the proportion of foreign students in the university, the level of teachers and employers, etc. The Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University said “The University of Calcutta ranks first among all government universities in India, but it ranks third among all universities in the country. Delhi University is in first place and JNU at second. Both are central universities. I came to know about this after the 2022 ranking released by QS Ranking on Asian Universities. We have to continue the good work in the academic field.”
Through the university rankings, the QS Asia releases the list of best institutions and universities in Asia. This year, a total of 500 institutions and universities have secured a place in the ranking list where 118 institutions and universities are from India. Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Bombay has clinched 42nd rank, the second-best ranking is of IIT Delhi which is ranked at 45th position and the IIT Madras is ranked at 54th place.
Best Universities in Asia
As per the QS Asia University Ranking 2022, the National University of Singapore is ranked as the number 1 university in Asia. The Peking University of China and the University of Hong Kong has received 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
