NIRF Ranking 2023: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru has been ranked the best university, followed by JNU and Jamia Millia Islamia, as per the NIRF Ranking released by the Union Ministry of Education.



NIRF Ranking 2023: Top 10 Universities in India

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2023 were released today. Once again, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has secured the top position in the university rankings, followed by JNU and Jamia Millia Islamia. IISc Bangalore has also been ranked second in the overall category.

In 2022, IISc Bengaluru also secured the top spot in the university rankings with a score of 83.57, while Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia took the second and third positions, respectively, with scores of 68.47 and 65.91.



Jamia Millia Islamia witnessed a significant improvement in its rankings last year, moving from 6th place in 2021 to 3rd place in 2022, surpassing Banaras Hindu University, which dropped to 6th place in 2022.

In the previous year's rankings, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham secured the fifth position with a score of 63.40, while BHU and Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, occupied the seventh spot with a score of 62.84.

Calcutta University, which was ranked fourth in 2021, fell to 8th place in the 2022 rankings. Vellore Institute of Technology and the University of Hyderabad secured the ninth and tenth positions, respectively, in the rankings of the previous year.
