Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the focus on mother tongue education in the New Education Policy (NEP). During the completion of three years of NEP, he mentioned that a large number of students from different parts of the country participated in the 'Gyan Kumbh' exhibition. The NEP aims to provide education in the mother tongue.
To mark the third anniversary of NEP 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 'Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam' in Delhi. The event provided a platform for academics, policymakers, industry representatives, and students to discuss key themes like Access to Quality Education, Equitable and Inclusive Education, and Internationalisation of Education, among others.
Prime Minister Modi emphasised the transformative power of education and its role in shaping India's future. He decried judging young people based on their language instead of their talent. Guided by the vision of the Prime Minister, NEP 2020 aims to groom the youth to lead the country in the 21st Century.
The two-day programme, held on July 29-30, witnessed fruitful discussions on implementing NEP 2020 effectively. The Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam includes 16 sessions covering various aspects of education.
The NEP's emphasis on mother-tongue education and its holistic approach to shaping the nation's future have garnered appreciation and interest from stakeholders across the country.
