Indian-American crowned Miss New Jersey USA
Eighteen-year-old Indian- American Emily Shah has won Miss New Jersey USA 2014 title, a month after Nina Davuluri scripted history by winning the coveted Miss America crown.

Emily, a resident of Edison that has a large Indian- American population, would now compete for Miss America and Miss Universe titles.

Emily was the youngest among over 130 contestants for the New Jersey pageant held over the weekend.

She was first runner-up at the 2013 Miss New Jersey Teen USA Pageant and first runner-up for Miss Teen World 2012. If Emily is crowned Miss USA, she will become the first New Jersey titleholder to wear the national crown, allvoices.com reported.

Shuffling between India and America, she has dabbled in cinema having acted in both Bollywood and Hollywood films.
She featured in Hollywood movies like ''The Great New Wonderful'' with Naseerudin Shah and Bollywood films such as ''Out of Control'' alongside Riteish Deshmukh, ''Ta Ra Rum Pum'', ''Jaaneman'' among others.

She is the daughter of Los Angeles-based Prashant Shah, who has been associated with several Bollywood production houses such as that of Karan Johar, Rakesh Roshan and Shahrukh Khan, in various capacities.

Emily plans to work in action films and is currently working as an assistant of stunt team of Hollywood movie ''Run All Night'' starring Liam Neeson and Ed Harris.

Miss New York Davuluri had won the coveted beauty pageant in September.
