He then stated that online classes will also continue for students who are not desirous of turning up at the college campus due to imminent Covid threats.
Minister Pal took to Twitter on February 8, 2022 to make the announcement. His tweet read, "#Haryana Schools will resume operations for Class 1 to 9 students from February 10, 2022. It must be noted that Covid-19 appropriate behaviour be strictly followed inside the classrooms. Parents willing to send their children to the campus premises may proceed with the same, while the ones who are not in favour of the decision can continue academic activities online".
It is noteworthy that the state ordered the resumption of academic activities for students of Class 10, 11 and 12 from February 1, 2022. In addition to this, the Haryana state government had decided to allow vaccinated students of Class 10-12 to begin attending classes in offline mode from January 27, 2022. Haryana education department gave nod to the decision and issued relevant orders in this regard as well.
As per the guidelines issued for reopening of schools in Haryana state, only the students who have administered the first vaccine dose were allowed to attend classes in the physical mode. Additionally, schools need to ensure compliance to Covid-19 norms.
Earlier in January, Minister Pal had stated that the Haryana government is planning to reopen schools with 33% capacity on different days. However, he did not mention the number of days in the week for which the schools shall function.
Notably, educational institutions of Haryana including schools, colleges, universities, coaching classes and other centres had pulled the plug on offline classes due to upticking Covid-19 cases. Owing to the same, online mode of education was again adopted for the students.
