CBSE Will Conduct Two Separate Board Exams for Class 10th Mathematics Subject

CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2020 for Mathematics subject has been planned to be conducted in two separate sections by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). 


According to the media reports, the Board has planned to conduct two separate examinations for the Mathematics subjects first examination will be Basic Mathematics while the second will be Standard Mathematics. 

Students who are going to appear for the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2020 will be required to select their choice of the test while filling the registration form. Also, they should be noted that if they opt for Basic Mathematics then they will not be able to select Mathematics in Class 11. The option for the Mathematics examination will be mentioned in the exam registration form of CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2020.

The CBSE has also advised the students to choose Standard Mathematics as a subject if they further want to pursue a career in the field of Mathematics. Students who aspire to pursue their career in any Non-Mathematical field may opt for Basic Mathematics.  

The syllabus for Basic and Standard Mathematics papers has not changed by the Board. While there will be changes in the difficulty level of both the papers. Also, the Basic Mathematics paper will be easier while the Standard Mathematics paper will be tough and based on concepts.

The CBSE is further providing the option of compartmental exam which will be conducted in July next year to those students who appear for the basic mathematics examination. If any student scores good marks in the Basic Mathematics paper and wishes to pursue Mathematics for class 12 examination. Then he/she will have to appear for the class 10 compartmental exam which will be conducted in July next year.
